HSK, Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, is the consistent test of Standard Chinese (a type of Mandarin Chinese) language expertise of Mainland China for non-native speakers such as students from abroad and foreign Chinese. The HSK test is equivalent to the English TOEFL. A student’s HSK certificate is valid without any limitation in China as it assesses the competence of communication in Chinese. The test is administered by the agency of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Hanban.
